First let us start by repeating a warning
– PLEASE DO NOT set your heart on any
memorial before talking to us. The rules are strict
and we are obliged to apply them. Their aim is to ensure that
the churchyard remains a place of natural peace and beauty;
please help us in this.
The pictures on this page show some of the
styles that have been allowed.
Note that all the stones are “natural
weathering” – not marble or granite.
Colours of these stones range from white through cream
and pale grey to a light tan. Slate is also allowed
and is usually a dark blue-grey. Note that the stones
usually look smoother than in these pictures.
The regulations are being more strictly enforced
these days. If you look at memorials erected in our
churchyard in the past 2 or 3 years you will get a good idea
of what is appropriate.

Lettering must be natural or black, except
on slate where it will be light grey.
