GIFT AID

Gift Aid for the four churches within the Team Ministry is dealt with by the PCC Assistant Hon Treasurer under one combined claim to the Revenue with the refunded tax applied to the individual church specified.

Regular giving to the four churches:
Anyone who gives regularly to their Church with the aid of either bankers orders or weekly pledged envelopes, and who is a UK taxpayer, can, with a completed Gift Aid form enable the Church to reclaim 28p* on every £1 they give. It is important to make sure that enough tax is paid to cover the 28ps to be reclaimed from your gift and also to take into account other Gift Aid commitment. (*Based on a tax rate of 22%)

A completed Gift Aid is user friendly – there is no fixed amount to pay or specified length of time. The donor is able to increase or decrease payments without further form filling, or, in changed circumstances, cancel the Gift Aid by contacting the PCC Assistant Hon Treasurer.

Donations in memory of family and friends:
All four churches welcome donations to any of the Team Ministry churches in memory of loved ones. These donations are able to have Gift Aid applied and are individually acknowledged.

Giving through the Self-Assessment Returns:
From April 2004 The Parish of South Gillingham and its individual code number ZAB99WG is listed on the Inland Revenue website.

If you are completing your Self-Assessment tax return, please consider donating all or part of any repayment due to you to the Parish of South Gillingham. Receipts from this scheme will be shared around the four churches.

To do so you need to enter ZAB99WG in box 19.A.3. on your Tax Return.

This is a new scheme to help charities and does not replace existing Gift Aids which should continue to be used in the same manner.
