Parish Diary – 20th April 2008

 

A copy of the 2008 Electoral Roll is now available in each Church for checking, no further names can now be added until after the Annual Parochial Church Meeting, but errors can be rectified if notified to the Parish Office (231736).

 

Annual Parochial Church Meeting to be held on Tuesday 29th April, 7.45pm in All Saints’ Church, Hempstead, the doors will open at 7.15 when light refreshments will be served. Agenda, Minutes for 2007 Meeting and nomination forms for PCC and Deanery membership are available in each Church.  Copies of the Annual Report together with the Abridged Consolidated Accounts for the Parish are available in each Church.  Copies of the full accounts are available on request from the Parish Office (231736).

 

New Youth Group (14 – 18 year olds only) starting 27th April, 7.30pm in St Paul’s, Parkwood.  See Spiral for details or contact Karl on 07792857961 or e mail Diago_apocalypse@hotmail.com . Please pray for the group.

 

Wigmore MADS first ever Murder Mystery Evening, Friday 25th & Saturday 26th April at 8.pm in St Matthew’s Community Centre.  Tickets £6 & £5 concessions from Sue 901634 370639).

 

St Paul’s Plant & Cake Sale 26 April, 10am to 12 noon.

 

Diocesan Weekend @ Detling 21st & 22nd June.  In order to encourage people to support this, there will only be one service in the Parish on 22 June, a said service at St Peter’s at 10am. We hope to have a Pilgrimage Group walking from the Parish to Detling (more information later). Information and Registration forms for the Diocesan Weekend are available in each Church. Please return completed Registration forms to the Diocese as soon as possible as they need the information to complete their arrangements.

The next Confirmation Service will be on Sunday 15th June at 6.30pm in St Matthew’s Church.  Preparation groups(s) will begin after Easter, so if you are wanting to be confirmed or would like to explore the possibility, then please have a chat with one of the clergy or readers or ring through to the Parish Office (231736).

 

Parish Quiet Day, 3rd May in the Benedictine Abbey at West Malling – ‘Listening to God’.  There is a list to sign in each Church.

 

‘Home’ A new play based on the Exodus, will be performed at St Matthew’s church Community Centre, Drewery Drive, on Saturday 24th June at 7.30pm by Rhema a Manchester based Christian Theatre Company.  Rhema are currently doing a national tour with ‘Home’ performing in theatres, churches, festivals and this will be the only performance in Kent.  Tickets £6.50 from the Box Office (372508) or  mattsconcerts@hotmail.co.uk or from representatives in each Church.

 

The congregation of St Luke’s, Gillingham invite you to join them on Saturday, 10 May at 12 noon for an Almost-Centenary Mass to celebrate the laying of the foundation stone in 1908.  A light lunch will follow.

 

The Parish Office will be closed 3 – 5 May inclusive.
