Tue 1 Gen 17 1-13	Naming and circumcision of Jesus As a new year begins so we pray that this year we might each be serious about drawing closer to the Lord and outwards in mission.
Wed 2 Ruth 1	Pray that the heating in St Paul’s will work effectively to reinforce a warm welcome to everyone meeting in the building on weekdays as well as on Sundays during the colder winter months.
Thu 3 Ruth 2	The living Christ has two hands, one to point the way the other held out to help us along
Fri 4 Ruth 3	The advertisement for a new team vicar with responsibility for St Paul’s will appear for the first time in the national church newspapers. Pray that it will inspire clergy who are considering a move to apply.
Sat 5 Ruth 4 1-17	Eternal God, who makest all things new and abidest forever the same, grant us to begin this year in thy faith and to continue it in thy favour.
Sun 6 Ps 132	Parish Service at St Paul’s We pray for the parish-wide service taking place at St Paul’s today. May it be a time of joyful celebration as well as a means of drawing us together.
Mon 7 Matt 20 1-16	Pray for the residents of: Whitegate Court, Parkwood Wigmore Road, Wigmore Wildman Close, Parkwood Wildwood Glade, Hempstead
Tue 8 Matt 20 17-28	St Paul’s DCC meets We thank God for all who serve on our church and parish councils, especially, today, members of St Paul’s DCC when they meet this evening. .
Wed 9 Matt 20 29-end	Play and Chat at St Paul’s for babies and toddlers with their carers begins again.
Thu 10 Matt 23 1-12	Pray for the Home Group Leaders who will meet on 14^th January for mutual encouragement and to pray for the groups.
Fri 11 Matt 23 13-28	Advertisement for the new team vicar is published for the second time. Pray that clergy debating a move will consider whether God is calling them here.
Sat 12 Matt 23 29-end	Pray for all involved with FOOTSTEPS (the special service for families with children younger than 7 years) as they meet tomorrow for the first time this year.
Sun 13 Ps 89 19-29	Baptism of Christ Pray that the puppets’ (Tommy, Jane and Grandpa,) message of God’s love will be clearly communicated to all who come to FOOTSTEPS today.
Mon 14 Matt 21 1-17	“Christianity Explored” begins at St Paul’s with Colin Lovell and Sally Murray leading. Pray that God’s guiding hand will steer them.
Tue 15 Matt 21 18-32	Pray for the residents of: Willowby Gardens, Parkwood Wimbourne Drive, Wigmore Woodpecker Glade, Wigmore Woodreaves Cottages, Parkwood
Wed 16 Matt 21 33-end	Lord Jesus, help me to be aware of Your presence throughout the day so that I may radiate Your kindliness and understanding to others.
Thu 17 Matt 22 1-14	Lord Jesus, may I find ways and words to lighten the burdens with which others have to live. Keep me truthful even in the little things so that I may grow in grace and be a credit to Your Kingdom.
Fri 18 Matt 22 15-33	Final appearance of new team vicar advertisement in the Church of England Newspaper and the Church Times. Pray that many will have applied for this position.
Sat 19 Matt 22 34-end	O God, Creator of the world, ever remind me as I step out in life that You, in human form, walked this way before me. Teach me Your way and make me realise that You will walk beside me on the road of life.
Sun 20 Ps 145 1-12	Teach me, O God that: Love ever Gives. Forgives, Outlives, Ever stands with open hands. And while it lives, It gives. For this is love’s prerogative, To give And give And give.

Tue 22 Matt 24 15-28	Pray for all who are ill especially those known to us. May sickness, sin and sadness to thy healing virtue yield.
Wed 23 Matt 24 29-end	O God, however long the road may seem to me for the establishment of a new and peaceful order in this world, help me never to lose heart or enthusiasm. May I do my share to make the world a better place.
Thu 24 Matt 25 1-13	Watch thou, dear Lord, with those who wake or watch or weep tonight and give thine angels charge over those who sleep. Tend thy sick ones, rest thy weary ones, bless thy dying ones, shield thy joyous ones, all for thy love’s sake,

Sat 26 Matt 25 31-end	St Paul’s post Christmas party. For people and parties, thank you Lord; for presents and cards, thank you Lord; for games and songs, thank you Lord; for cakes and candles, thank you Lord.
Sun 27 Ps 113	St Paul’s patronal service Give thanks and pray for all who are helping at St Paul’s with the Sunday rota – preaching and presiding at Holy Communion.
Mon 28 Matt 26 1-16	Holy Father, give us wisdom to perceive thee, intelligence to understand thee, diligence to seek thee, patience to wait for thee, eyes to behold thee, a heart to meditate upon thee and a life to proclaim thee.

Wed 30 Matt 26 36-46	Shortlisting takes place of candidates for team vicar. Pray for wisdom and foresight for those with responsibility for choosing interviewees.
Thu 31 Matt 26 47-56	Lord, help us to meet this new year bravely in the faith that, while life changes all around us, you are always the same, guiding us with your wisdom and protecting us with your love.
